Of course, you can go to the beach, check out the local seafood restaurants, go bar hopping with your friends, and partake in watersports during your time in Florida. But there are also annual events that are one-of-a-kind events, attractions, and activities that you won’t find elsewhere! Check out these summer events in Cape Coral to make your vacation just that much more special.

July

One event happening in July is the Step into History Presentations at the Edison & Ford Winter Estes Museum on 2350 McGregor Blvd in Fort Myers. Head here at 11 am on Tuesday and Thursday from July 4th to July 27th. Each week the Edison Ford Historians will present an in-depth look at a historical topic related to the site. History buffs will not only enjoy the presentations but the rest of the museum as well! The presentations are included in the cost of admission to the museum so don’t miss out!

Another great spot to check out during July is the Koreshan Sunday Farmer’s Market. Happening every Sunday from 8 am – 1 pm until July 30th the Koreshan Sunday Farmer’s Market is the perfect place to go to support small businesses in the area. You’ll enjoy viewing fresh produce, homemade foods including salsas and guacamole, jewelry, handmade crafts and décor, sea glass, and much more! Make sure to stop by during your upcoming summer getaway to Cape Coral.

If you’re into dancing, specifically salsa dancing, check out the Friday Night Salsa Uninterrupted Dance Party. Happening at 2401 Hancock Bridge Parkway in Cape Coral on July 7th this 6-hour event starting at 8 pm offers great food, great music, and a great venue. Don’t miss out on this good time!

Another fun July event is Mango Mania, featuring everything fruit-focused — especially mango! If you are a fan of this super-sweet fruit, head here to try salsa, chutney, bread, smoothies, ice cream, sorbet, and much more. There are also kid’s activities, games, music, live entertainment, discounted mangoes, and mango trees for your home!

August

Although there are no music festivals or annual events in Cape Coral during August, there are still so many things to do in the sunny weather, long days, and fewer crowds! We recommend going to the ‘Just for Fun’ dog show at the local Rotary Park to meet some cute pups and bond with locals. We love going and seeing which one wins one of the 12 categories of prizes and fun awards! Grab a hot dog for good and pick up some dog memorabilia during your time here. If you are in the mood for live music, then Matisyahu on August 24th, Jason Aldean in the Hertz Arena on August 24th, and Counting Crows on August 4th are great shows to see live.

September

If you come to Cape Coral during the later summer months to avoid crowds and get lower prices, we don’t blame you! The weather is still incredible, the beaches are emptier, and there are still endless events for you to check out on your family-friendly vacation. We recommend going to the International Peace Day celebration in Fort Myers, featuring the Peace Day in the Park. This friendly and chilled-out celebration features live music, activities for families and kids of all ages, local vendors for food and drink, and a collaborative event for artists, musicians, visitors, and locals alike.

Last but not least, there are tons of concerts and fun events that only occur once per year in Cape Coral at the end of summertime! Head to the Hertz Arena to bring back the good times of old with 98 Degrees in Estero, FL. We also can’t believe that Red Jumpsuit Apparatus is coming to The Ranch Concert Hall and Saloon in Fort Myers, Florida, on September 24th! Another great concert that is a must-see during your time in Cape Coral is Thomas Rhett on his Home Team Tour ‘23, coming to the Hertz Arena on September 14th. If you are a fan of live music and enjoy singing along with your very best friends, there is no better time to come to the bustling and busy town of Cape Coral on the coast.
