Are you looking for a place to go for Memorial Day Weekend? Fortunately for you, we have already done a little research to find out the best place to visit and the most exciting thing to do during this weekend off from school or work! It doesn’t matter if you are going on vacation with your partner, friends, or family — Cape Coral, Florida, has tons of activities to offer every single tourist who visits here.

Cape Coral is home to numerous beaches, mouthwatering seafood, friendly people, outdoor sports, indoor activities, cultural attractions, and much more. Head here any time of the year to enjoy walking around the paths by the beach, getting an ice-cold beer at a swim-up bar, or lying out and getting a tan at the nearby beaches.

You can also head here for Memorial Day Weekend to enjoy annual events you won’t find elsewhere! Let’s check out the top things to do during your stay for Memorial Day in Cape Coral — and why Cape Coral 4 Vacations offers the best properties for you and your personal preferences.

Grab Some Brunch

Before you have a few cocktails or beers to start your vacation, you need to eat some food! Luckily for you, there are dozens of breakfast joints and cafes in the Cape Coral area that are going to fill you up and ensure you start the day in the best way possible.

One of our favorites is Hart + Soul, a low-key and modern breakfast joint that consistently serves up great dishes and strong coffee to start your holiday off in the best way possible. We love one of the classic dishes, like the Pork Fritter with thin-sliced and breaded pork, pepper gravy, two eggs, potatoes and toast. If you want something a bit different, try the Philly Cheese Steak Benny with two poached eggs, peppers, onions, mushrooms, and hollandaise sauce on a toasted English muffin!

Another great joint for locals and tourists is Cafe YOU, a cafe that is dedicated to strong coffee, great service, and unique food dishes that are different from the typical American fare. We recommend getting the Avocado Toast with avocado, poached egg, feta, and house made bread. Add beet hummus and greens for an extra kick!

If you want something a bit more filling, you can’t go wrong with one of the Breakfast Favorites, like the Toasted Banana Bread with ricotta, banana, walnuts, and honey. Or try the Shakshuka Turkish dish with two organic eggs, spicy tomato stew, baguette bread, and add tofu if you are a vegetarian!

Hit the Beach

After a filling breakfast, it is time to hit the beach! There are so many to choose from that it makes it easy for you to bring an umbrella and choose a spot that won’t be too crowded this holiday weekend. We recommend checking out Yacht Club Public Beach, Four Freedoms Beach, Captiva Island Beach, Lovers Key State Park, Alison Hagerup Beach Park, or Bonita Beach.

Not sure which one to pick? Well, here are some tips. Head to Bonita Beach for sunset and to walk your dog, as this is the only country-owned beach where you can bring your pup in Cape Coral! We love the shower stations, disposal stations, and free parking.

For those who are in town for a romantic MDW with their partner, the Alison Hagerup Beach Park on Captiva Island is the place to be. Since it is within walking distance to Captiva Island, you can do a half-day trip from Cape Coral to check out the seafood restaurants on Captiva Island and then go for a romantic sunset walk on the beach.

If you are wandering around Cape Coral, we highly recommend heading to Cape Coral’s Yacht Club by the Caloosahatchee River. This beach contains dozens of facilities, tons of space, and free sport courts that are perfect for challenging your friends or teaching your kids how to play shuffleboard or horseshoes.

One of the most popular beaches, and for good reasons, is Captiva Beach. Although it is a little farther of a drive from the center of Cape Coral, it is well-worth the effort. Captiva Beach has thousands of shells, miles and miles of a long white sand strip, and breathtaking sunsets that will be the highlight of your vacation.

5K!

Last but not least, we recommend checking out the Sandoval Community 5K this Memorial Day in Cape Coral! Stay fit and get in the steps during the holiday season by joining the Sandoval 5K Cape Coral Run/Walk with your friends or family.
