Enjoy a Thanksgiving Feast

What is Thanksgiving without a scrumptious meal? Whether you make it yourself, hire a caterer, or head out to a restaurant to avoid laboring over a stove, you can experience your family’s traditions right here in Cape Coral. Many of our rental homes have gourmet kitchens that are large enough for multiple people to come together to rustle up your family’s favorite recipes.
Don’t want to bother? There are caterers nearby, whether you fancy refined dishes with beautiful presentation or banquet-style set-ups. Artichoke and Company, just south of Cape Coral, caters to Thanksgiving dinners and provides pickup/delivery meals. Be sure to contact caterers directly for 2026 menus and availability.
If you strive for the least laborious plans possible, there will be restaurants open on Thanksgiving. Try places like the crowd favorites Front Porch Social, Ariani Ristorante Italiano, or Mel’s Diner.
Run the Cape Coral Stuff the Bagel 5K Gobble Wobble
Start the Thanksgiving morning at Stuff the Bagel 5K Gobble Wobble. This annual race begins at 7:30 am on November 26 in downtown Cape Coral. You’ll have time to get in some exercise before enjoying a feast later. You’ll also receive a post-race bagel, but be careful not to fill up before your Thanksgiving meal. Don’t worry if you’re not a runner; you can jog or walk at your own pace during the 5K. This event is more than a holiday run; it’s for a good cause. Participants are encouraged to bring a nonperishable food item to donate to the Cape Caring Food Bank.
Location: 4825 Milton St., Downtown Cape Coral
Admission: Free for kids 1-4; $35 for kids 5-12; $45 for each runner 13 and up; family plan costs $150
Attend an Early Holiday Celebration

If you’re someone who immediately transitions to the winter holiday spirit as soon as the last Thanksgiving leftovers are done, Cape Coral’s Holiday Nights on the Lawn is a perfect way to honor that. This is a free, family-friendly celebration that features a holiday tree and menorah lighting. There will also be food trucks, vendors, activities for kids, and even Santa will make an appearance.
Watch the Big Game
Thanksgiving Day and the following weekend also mark back-to-back entertainment for football fans. It’s a mainstay at this point. You can make the living room, game room, or a private courtyard at one of our vacation rentals a sports lounge. Cozy up with your favorite food and beverage in the comfort of your home away from home and root on your favorite team. If you’d rather hang out with fellow fans, head over to a local sports bar. Cape Coral has plenty of casual spaces to watch the game in a rowdy sports-fan atmosphere.
Cast a Line on the Waters

In Florida, you don’t have to stay inside all day—even during Thanksgiving. With the many waterways and mild climate, the fall season in Cape Coral is an especially good time to fish. You’re likely to get good catches, too. To find Catfish, Redfish, and more, head over to Venture to Bernice Braden Park, Four Freedoms Park, or Four-Mile Cove Eco Preserve. To sweeten the deal, the Saturday after Thanksgiving is a license-free saltwater fishing day in Florida. Between the Caloosahatchee River and the city’s extensive canal system, you have plenty of opportunities to catch something.
Give Thanks During a Gulf Coast Sunset
It is easy to find a spot on Cape Coral to capture the beauty of a sunset. After dinner or a game, head to a waterfront spot to watch the sky change colors. Better yet, rent one of our waterfront homes, and you can capture this in your backyard. Take a moment to reflect on what you are thankful for. It’s the end of a perfect Thanksgiving Day.
